The Rugged Bronco Sport Sasquatch Package

A blue 2026 Ford Bronco Sport off-roading

It’s hard not to compare the Bronco Sport to the model it’s inspired by and named after: the legendary Ford Bronco. In that comparison, you’ll find that the Bronco Sport has a lot of positives: it’s more affordable, more compact for easy maneuvering, and better for getting around city streets. On the other hand, it’s the less off-road capable option of the two models, especially when you look at the lower trim levels.

Of course, you can be plenty off-road ready and still fall short compared to the rugged Bronco. Since its 2021 model year debut, the Bronco Sport has had solid capability for the occasional ride that leaves the pavement behind. But many drivers who appreciate the Bronco Sport’s unique style and size have been hoping for a variant that offers just a little more rugged edge.

For the 2026 Ford Bronco Sport, that wish has been granted in the form of the Sasquatch Package. First introduced for 2025 on the Outer Banks and Badlands trims of the SUV, this package brings some serious equipment upgrades to the table, allowing you to explore the wilderness like never before. Today, we’re going to take a look at exactly what the Sasquatch badge brings along with it and what kinds of drivers should consider springing for it.

Sasquatch Outer Banks

Without any packages added, the Outer Banks trim already has a lot to offer. Like all Bronco Sport models, it comes standard with a 4×4 drivetrain with five GOAT (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) modes that let you switch between Normal mode for everyday driving, ECO mode to prioritize fuel economy, Sport mode for thrilling dynamics, Slippery mode for inclement weather, and Off-Road mode for rough terrain. The base engine gives you 180 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque to work with, giving you plenty of oomph for accelerating quickly and up to 2,200 lbs of towing capability.

As a high-level trim, the 2026 Bronco Sport Outer Banks also boasts numerous premium features, including upgraded seating, unique interior trim, and exterior accents that clearly indicate you’re driving a top-of-the-line model. Comfortable and stylish, this trim has a lot to offer you and your passengers even in its standard form. However, Ford doesn’t stop there, and gives you plenty of options to go even further with the Outer Banks trim.

Add the Sasquatch Package, and you get all that plus some upgrades that come in handy off-road. For better performance on unpaved surfaces, you’ll get an advanced 4×4 system and a HOSS 2.0 Off-Road Suspension to smooth out any bumps in the trail. High clearance fender flares help you fend off dirt, mud, and rocks, while a brush guard protects your front end from getting scraped up by rugged obstacles. Front and rear recovery hooks can give you peace of mind as you tackle tricky terrain.

On top of features that directly make the Bronco Sport more capable, there are also a few that can simply come in handy on off-road adventures. The Trailer Tow Package with Trailer Sway Control makes it easy to bring a trailer along for the ride, either for camping or carrying extra equipment. An AC power outlet in the cabin can help you charge electric lanterns, inflate air mattresses, and more, improving your next adventure in the great outdoors.

Sasquatch Badlands

The top-tier Badlands trim is the most capable Bronco Sport in the 2026 lineup, and it doesn’t require any packages to give you some serious off-road action. It comes with a more capable engine, giving you 250 hp, 280 lb-ft of torque, and 2,700 lbs of towing capacity. This extra power lets you bring heftier trailers along for the ride and get more thrills as you tear it up in off-road parks and trails.

The Bronco Sport Badlands also comes standard with an advanced 4×4 system, a HOSS 2.0 suspension, and an additional two GOAT modes: Rock Crawl mode lets you tackle big boulders, while the Rally mode lets you drive with confidence over desert sand at high speeds, for some serious off-road thrills. The advanced 4×4 system is particularly noteworthy since it lets the Badlands shift torque laterally between the rear wheels for superior traction.

Standard all-terrain tires give you the grip you need to venture off-road, while underbody protection and a steel-plated front bumper provide protection from rocks and roots that could otherwise damage vital components of your vehicle. This is all accompanied by special badging and styling touches that show the world just how rugged your SUV is.

Add the Sasquatch Package, and you’ll get some of the same features that the package adds to Outer Banks, like a brush guard, high clearance fender flares, and recovery hooks in the front and rear. But many of the features on the Sasquatch Outer Banks are already included in the Badlands trim, like the AC power outlet, Class II Trailer Tow Package, and HOSS 2.0 suspension.

To kick things up an extra notch, the Sasquatch Badlands comes with a HOSS 3.0 off-road suspension featuring rear Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, which can handle even bumpier ground without making the ride in the cabin unpleasant. To give you the ability to push this SUV to its limits, especially during hot summers, the package adds an upgraded engine cooling fan, making it harder for overheating to ruin your fun.

Which Trim Is Best?

The Bronco Sport Badlands continues to be the most off-road capable trim, even compared to the Outer Banks trim with the Sasquatch package. The Badlands trim also comes standard with the same creature comforts as the Outer Banks, with dual-zone climate control, heated seats, and more. However, the Outer Banks Sasquatch is more efficient than the Badlands, thanks to its smaller engine.

If you’re not worried about fuel economy and want the best capability possible, the Badlands trim with the Sasquatch package is the way to go. This option lets you get closer to the big Bronco’s capability without dealing with the larger footprint of the midsize model. Plus, it still has all the premium features of the Outer Banks for a comfortable ride.
